Effect of SBR/Waste Ceramic Powder Nanocomposite on High Temperature Performance of Asphalt Binder

Modifying asphalt binder with styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) improves low temperature performance (resistance to cracking), elastic recovery, and ductility of binder. However, some difficulties were found at high temperatures susceptibility (Rutting), storage stability (compatibility). Therefore, the aim this study is resolve these defects (rutting compatibility) by formulating SBR/ waste nanoceramic powder (WNCP) nanocomposites. Three nanocomposites formulations are fabricated from SBR/WNCP mass ratios (90:10), (80:20), (70, 30) respectively. The prepared assessed XRF, XRD, DLS. Asphalt modified 5wt% each nanocomposite. Physical tests including softening point, penetration, penetration index measured. performance; rutting factor (G*/sindelta) studied DSR before after exposure short term aging. compatibility was conducting test. Results confirmed that fabrication nanocomposite enhance compatibility, stability, stiffness blended Also, results approved resistance enhanced.
